EMA Trend Alignment

Exponential moving averages emphasize recent prices. The scanner calculates EMA 20, 50 and 200, then compares price position, ordering, slope and normalized separation. A tiny crossover receives less credit than an established, expanding alignment.

Why it is not used alone: EMA evidence defines structure, but a clean alignment can still be late or overextended. Momentum, volatility and entry context must also agree.

MACD

MACD compares 12- and 26-period exponential averages and smooths their difference with a 9-period signal line. The engine evaluates line position, histogram sign, expansion, contraction and recent crossovers.

Why it is not used alone: A crossover alone can occur inside a noisy range. Trend quality and price structure determine whether momentum evidence deserves strong weight.

RSI

The 14-period Relative Strength Index measures recent directional momentum. The scanner examines current range, multi-value slope, recovery, deterioration and overextension.

Why it is not used alone: Below 30 is not automatically LONG and above 70 is not automatically SHORT. Strong trends can remain extreme for many candles.

ADX and DMI

ADX measures trend strength while +DI and −DI indicate directional dominance. Strong ADX with clear +DI leadership supports bullish trend evidence; −DI leadership supports bearish evidence.

Why it is not used alone: ADX has no direction of its own. Treating a high ADX reading as bullish would be technically incorrect.

ATR

Average True Range measures volatility using gaps and intrabar ranges. ATR is divided by price so contracts such as BTC and DOGE can be compared on a percentage basis.

Why it is not used alone: ATR does not predict direction. It contributes volatility-quality points and defines practical entry, extension and risk distances.

Bollinger Bands

A 20-period average and two standard deviations form the upper and lower bands. The scanner interprets bandwidth, middle-band interaction and position alongside trend strength.

Why it is not used alone: Touching the upper band is not automatically bearish, and touching the lower band is not automatically bullish; trends can walk a band.

Supertrend

Supertrend combines a 10-period ATR with a configurable multiplier of three. Its line and persistent direction provide a volatility-adjusted trend confirmation.

Why it is not used alone: A single flip never creates the final signal. It is one weighted confirmation among the broader framework.

Ichimoku Cloud

The engine calculates Tenkan, Kijun and correctly displaced Senkou spans. Price above a supportive cloud and Tenkan above Kijun strengthen bullish evidence; the inverse supports bearish evidence.

Why it is not used alone: Price inside the cloud reduces directional confidence because the structure is less decisive.

On Balance Volume

OBV accumulates volume according to close-to-close direction. Recent OBV slope is compared with price behavior to identify practical accumulation, distribution and divergence conflicts.

Why it is not used alone: Divergence detection is deliberately conservative and deterministic rather than attempting to label every short-term disagreement.

VWAP

Crypto trades continuously, so the scanner uses a UTC daily session VWAP for consistent intraday positioning. VWAP slope, price position, reclaim and rejection help evaluate entry timing and trend confirmation.

Why it is not used alone: VWAP resets by a defined UTC session and is never used as a standalone directional trigger.

Important Structure Layer: Support and Resistance

Support and resistance are calculated from confirmed swing pivots rather than treating every candle high or low as a level. They remain separate from the ten primary indicator score so the scoring maximum stays transparent.

For a LONG setup, confirmed 1H or 4H demand anchors the pullback entry and structural stop while resistance is checked before TP1. For a SHORT setup, confirmed higher-timeframe supply anchors risk while support is checked before TP1. The candidate is rejected when opposing structure blocks the first target or the structural stop would exceed the 5% total-position loss limit.
